Snoozer
This morning Ben drifted (his mom carried him) from his crib to the bed where he slept in even later than me. I can't say that this really surprises me, but in some way it seems like some sort of unconscious generational challenge.

Ben is officially crawling and very, very, busy. His latest trick as of today is pulling himself up on whatever he can find. I put him down for a nap and when I went in to peek on him, I found that he can now pull himself up...I guess it's time to lower the crib. Gone are the days where I could put him under his "rainforest" on his back and quickly check my email without the fear he'd go anywhere. My running shoes are on! I am ready. It's a good thing I'm a teacher and have eyes in the back of my head. ;)

I went in to say "bye" before I left for work and found these two snuggling...makes it a little hard to leave in the morning.

For Ben's first Valentine's Day we headed to the country house (in-laws) to get some rest and relaxation. On the way we stopped at Ikea with Ben to see if there were any fun items and we found a collapsible tunnel that he could crawl through. On his first attempt he made it end to end in about 2 minutes.
On Saturday we called Mops and Pops on Skype so Ben could get a quick video chat in with his east coast grandparents. He was in a good mood and aside from trying to stomp on the keyboard, he did a great job.
In the evening, we went to some family friends' house for a homemade crab dinner complete with red velvet cupcakes that Dara made earlier in the day.
Ben help up great until about 9 o'clock when Dara and Ronni decided to put on his PJs mid-air before we headed home.

Ben is getting to be a fairly enthusiastic eater. This morning when we were having breakfast he was chomping at the spoon the minute he saw it, sometimes resulting in a misaligned approach amd thus sweet potato up the nose.

In the past few days Ben has been sccoting around quite a bit. He can pretty much cross a room now in just a minute or two and he always heads for trouble when he's on the move.

Ben's Nonni Ronni gave him a bath tonight! He kept staring at > himself in the mirror and splashing around. Bathtime is one of our > favorite times of day.

Buttons woke up at six this morning, so I brought him into bed with us and he slept another two-and-half hours.
